国王的超市开业了，许许多多的动物都来买东西。动物们有的说：“要不要钱？”国王说：“不要钱，你们可以天天去我开的森林超市买东西。”有小熊、小白兔、小灰兔、啄木鸟、老虎……一会儿它们都买完了，动物们都说：“谢谢！”国王说：“不客气。”这就是国王的森林超市。国王很开心，动物们也很开心。

第二天早上，商人又偷偷的来到这个国家，他和士兵、村民们说:“国王的树下藏了很多珍贵的宝藏，你们去找找，这样你们也可以变成有钱人。”很快大家都知道了这个消息，原本团结的人们为了宝藏，听信了商人的谣言，就开始行动了起来，回家找了自己的工具，跑到每棵树下面挖土，寻找宝藏。不一会儿，这个国家的土地被大家挖的坑坑洼洼的。大树被放倒了，商人派自己手下把所有的大树都拉走了，国王看到了却没能阻止自己的士兵和村民。
万物复苏的春天来了，人们看到了自己的国家光秃秃的，小路到处坑坑洼洼，心里很是难过。这时，国王告诉大家：“这些树能给我们带来美好的环境，可以让我们国家很美丽，树是美化环境的。”大家都很后悔，听信商人的谎言，让自己美丽的国家变的惨不忍睹。
过了不久，有人听说英国有家“森林超市”，是用各种各样的树木搭建的，超市周围也都是用树木环绕着，非常美丽。
