Good morning dear professors, fellow students, and especially the new freshmen. It is with great pleasure and excitement that I stand here today to welcome all of you to our prestigious university. As a senior student, I still remember the anticipation and nervousness I felt when I first stepped onto this campus. But let me assure you, your journey here will be filled with endless opportunities for growth, learning, and unforgettable experiences.
Firstly, I want to emphasize the importance of embracing diversity. Our university is a melting pot of different cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives. This is a chance for you to broaden your horizons and learn from people who come from different walks of life. Engage in conversations with your classmates, participate in student clubs, and take advantage of the numerous international exchange programs available. Remember, it is through understanding and appreciating our differences that we can truly become global citizens.
Secondly, I encourage you to step out of your comfort zones. College is not just about academic achievements, but also about personal growth. Take risks, try new things, and challenge yourself. Join a sports team, audition for a play, or volunteer for a community service project. These experiences will not only enrich your college life but also shape your character and help you develop essential skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience.
Furthermore, I urge you to make the most of the resources and support available on campus. Your professors, advisors, and the university staff are here to guide and assist you. Don't hesitate to seek help when you need it, whether it's with academics, career planning, or personal matters. Remember, you are not alone in this journey, and there are always people willing to lend a helping hand.
Lastly, I want to remind you to find a balance between your academic and social life. While it is important to strive for excellence in your studies, don't forget to take care of your well-being and enjoy the vibrant campus life. Join clubs and societies that align with your interests, attend campus events, and build meaningful friendships. College is a time to create memories that will last a lifetime, so make sure to make the most of it.
In conclusion, I want to once again extend my warmest welcome to all the new freshmen. You have chosen an outstanding institution for your higher education, and I am confident that each and every one of you will thrive here. Cherish this chapter of your life, seize the opportunities that come your way, and make the most of your time in university. Congratulations, and best of luck on this incredible journey!
Thank you.

I am a boy who loves baroque music, especially the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. At my age, loving classical music is seen as an ceptional taste, but I dont agree with this. For me, age is irrelevant when it comes to music. The most important thing about listening to classical music is to have a heart of godliness.
Bach is considered now to be one of the greatest musicians ever. Why is that? I feel it is because of his devotion towards god. Bach had devoted his whole life to revealing the glory of the lord by music. Composing, for Bach, was a way to connect the pine world and the mortal world. Similarly, I have devoted my musical taste and life towards listening to Bachs music. In other words, the way I view Bach is how Bach viewed god. With this same kind of piety, I am able to connect with Bach on an emotional level, which allows me to overcome the difficulties and frustrations I face in life. I consider myself to be very similar to Bach because we are both persistent in setting and achieving goals.
The spirit of Bachs music inspires me and helps me to face my life with a new determination to fulfill my goals. It is evident that Bachs music has and will continue to shape my life in years to come.
If youre able to listen to classical music with emotion even just once, I know that youll find a new positive influence in your life just as I did.

my dear teachers and friends:
Suppose you are in a dark cave alone now. Maybe you can not find any hope, you are trembling and frightened. What will you do? What will you say? Will you give up? No we should not give up. We should try our best to find hope. So today, I am honored to stand here to share my opinion with you---- Let’s say NO to Give UP.
Even no
w I can still see a very special picture in my mind now. I was taking part in the 800-meter race. To be honest, it was not hard at first. I felt energetic and confident. We were all pushing on to the finishing line. One minute, two minutes,… Terrible!~ One of the athletes was half the lap ahead of me. So tired and worried I was that my feet could not move any further. “Give up?” A low voice came from the bottom of my heart. At the same time I could feel something shining. My friends and even my Mom and Dad were watching and shouting so loud, “Come on! Never give up!” Strangely, my body kept going. Anyhow I would finish the competition. And I made it.
What about you? When meeting any difficulty, you can not even see any hope at that moment, will you give up? No, let’s say NO to GIVE UP.
Thank you!
